La Nube
Flow Interactive Terrazzo Bench
La Nube commissioned Mitsu Overstreet to design an interactive terazzo bench to furnish the museum's Flow exhibit. The bench was made by Andreola Terrazzo & Restoration and consists of navy, gray and white aggregate integrated into white epoxy terrazzo, as well as flowing and intersecting strips of brass and zinc. Louie Salinas produced metallic circular die-cut icons representing the Rio Grande Blue Catfish, Cottonwood Tree, Snowy Egret, Coyote, Horned Toad, Monarch Butterfly, Prickly Pear Cactus, Ocotillo, and Spade-foot Toad of South Texas. These icons act as targets that can be scanned to view the AR component of the exhibit.
